News that probably won’t have a huge impact, Meta warns users that its ‘premier’ is the option to watch community videos Will be devalued soonAs it continues to work on combining its various video offers.
You can see in this screenshot posted by the user Gary McGuire (And shared by Matt Navara), Meta is removing its ‘Premier’ option from August 22 If you want to schedule an upcoming video broadcast, you’ll need to use a regular scheduled video post instead, while you can host a live-stream, if you want to increase promotions around a specific event and date.
Although ‘Premier’ was not made for that.
Originally launched in 2018, enabling premieres Publishers are primarily authorized to broadcast pre-recorded content via Facebook Live – although the videos are tagged as ‘premiere’ and not the usual ‘live’ moniker.

Explained by Meta:
“When you schedule a premiere, an announcement post is automatically added to your page and viewers can like, share and comment about your upcoming video. People can subscribe and get notifications about your upcoming videos During the premiere, your video is broadcast live with a premiere badge. Viewers can like, share and comment in real time. Unlike a normal live broadcast, a page administrator does not have to be present during a premiere broadcast. “
The idea is that it enables fans to use and engage video content in a more communal environment, while more specific ‘premiere’ tags help avoid confusion with a live broadcast.
So it’s a live broadcast of a pre-recorded video to increase engagement
Not for long though.
It’s not clear why, right, the meta option is being removed, but it’s working to provide similar premieres as a paid event and it may be that it works well as a direct, video-on-demand event option, as opposed to such a dedicated feature. .
However, I suspect it was not a highly used functionality, which should mean that the effect, as a whole, is minimal.
