Microsoft Flight Simulator: Standard Game of the Year Edition
Microsoft Flight Simulator Game of the Year (GOTY) Standard Edition celebrates all the positive feedback, reviews and awards, but it is a “thank you” to our fans – new and old – that made Microsoft Flight Simulator such an event. Microsoft Flight Simulator Standard Game of the Year version features 25 highly detailed planes with unique flight models and 38 handmade airports. This enhanced version introduces five completely new aircraft, eight new handicraft airports, six new Discovery flights, new tutorials and weather system updates. The five new handicraft aircraft in the Microsoft Flight Simulator include: • Boeing F / A-18 Super Hornet: Our first Military jets and a highly requested feature from the community. The Top Gun: Maverick will be released next spring with the expansion movie, but we wanted the seamers to have a chance to test their speed requirements this holiday season. VoloCity: We have partnered with the well-known German company Volocopter, which operates an eVTOL called “VoloCity”, a dream for an urban air taxi. We have worked closely with the Volokopter engineering team to create an authentic version of the prototype aircraft for the simulator. This is our first aircraft that can make a pinpoint landing and a teaser of what you can expect when we want to launch a helicopter in SIM in 2022. • Pilatus PC-6 Porter: This legendary short takeoff and landing (STOL) utility aircraft is a highly versatile aircraft in Switzerland and comes with several cockpit, cabin and landing gear variations. This is the result of our close collaboration with the manufacturer and the development efforts of the famous developers Hans Hartmann and Alexander Metzger. • CubCrafters NX Cub: Yakima-based CubCrafters recently launched a nose wheel alternative to their flagship CC-19 XCub aircraft, popularly known as the NX Cub, to further introduce our Bush Flying and Off-Airport options to flight sim viewers. We are happy to give. . Vi Aviat Pitts Special S1S: One of our most popular planes gets a single seat option with the departure of this aircraft. New Airports – We are adding eight handicraft airports in Central Europe and the United States: • Germany or Leipzig / Halle Airport (EDDP) or Algae Airport Memmingen (EDJA) or Castle Airport (EDVK) • Switzerland or Lugano Airport (LSZA) or Jurisport LSZH) o Luzern-Beromunster Airport (LSZO) • United States o Patrick Space Force Base (KCOF) o Marine Corps Air Station Miramar (KNKX) The Game of the Year release adds information about 545 previously lost airports in the United States. New Mission – Based on the popularity of the recently launched Discovery Flight, we are adding six additional locations (Helsinki, Freiburg im Bresgau, Mecca, Monument Valley, Singapore and Mount Cook) to this popular series. New Tutorials – To further expand the onboarding experience, we’re adding 14 new tutorials, introducing Bush Flying (an icon at A5) and IFR (a Cessna 172) at Seamer. New Features – We’re also pleased to introduce some of the more highly requested features from the community: an updated weather system, early access to DX12 and a Dave Mode replay system. New Photogrammetry Cities – As part of our ongoing collaboration with Bing Maps, we are pleased to add several new Photogrammetry cities: Helsinki (Finland), Freiburg im Bresgau (Germany), Brighton, Derby, Eastbourne, Newcastle and Nottingham (UK). Utrecht (Netherlands). Microsoft Flight Simulator Standard Game of the Year version will be available as a free update for PC and Xbox Series X | S owners.
