Today, we are pleased to announce that the Fokker F. VII aircraft, the second aircraft in our “Local Legends” series, is now available. Microsoft Flight Simulator. The series celebrates the history of aviation and the releases always match every world update. Local legends are aircraft that are famous locally but may not be well known to the world.
The F.VII, built by Fokker in the Netherlands, is one of the best in aircraft history. It advanced into the world of aviation in the golden age of 1920s and 1930s flight due to its endurance, reliability, strength and load-bearing capacity. The F.VII, which first flew on November 24, 1924, and became known to the public in 1925, served the primary airline industry, transported cargo, carried aircraft mail, and searched.
Originally designed as a single-engine aircraft, the high-wing F.VII was initially built as a tri-motor, powered by three 9-cylinder Wright J-6 rotary radial engines that each provide 300 horsepower. With a range of 750 miles, a cruise speed of 111 miles per hour and a takeoff and landing run just below 750 feet, F.VII has proven to be ideal for many situations.
Capable of carrying up to 8 passengers, a total of about 5,000 pounds of cargo, or a combination of the two, Fokker F.VII became famous for several airmail, passenger and cargo lines. F.VII was the preferred aircraft of many explorers for expeditions to continents, oceans, and poles and other undiscovered territories. The Fokker F.VII is a great, iconic icon from the early days of the aviation world, capturing a few global fantasies and enjoying a lasting legacy.

South Cross
Famous South Cross The Fokker F.VIIb / 3m aircraft, one of the first of its kind, the incredibly ambitious crossing of the Pacific Ocean – 7,250 miles from Oakland, California to Brisbane, Australia. Nine days after their launch, four pilots arrived in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, to fight storms, fatigue and equipment defects.
To cross the Pacific Ocean, the pilots navigated South Cross A course that first took them to Hawaii, then an incredible 3,167-mile, 34-hour journey to Fiji – the first time a plane landed on the island – and finally to Brisbane. Historians describe the success as indebted to the Southern Cross for just as much as the four responsible for flying it.
Friendship
The Friendship is the Fokker F.VIIb / 3m that crossed the Atlantic Ocean in June 1928, and soon after the famous pilot Amelia Yarhart as a passenger. The Trimotor takes just 20 hours to cross, departing from Trapezi Harbor, Newfoundland, and landing at Bury Port, Wales. The flight of the high-wing monoplane indefinitely helped to stamp the aircraft’s Fokker F.VII line as one of the true best in early aviation history.
Josephine Ford
Josephine Ford is a Fokker F.VIIa / 3m that Richard Evelyn Bird flew to the North Pole on May 9, 1926 on his daring expedition. At that time in history, the North Pole was never reached by air. While the success of this endeavor remains in question, it remains one of the great adventures of the early days of aviation and one that has proved the trimotor F.VIIa / 3m as one of the icons of the golden age of flight.
Fokker F.VIIa
The Fokker F.VIIa is a single-engine monoplane manufactured by the Dutch aviation firm Fokker. The F.VIIa, one of the world’s first transport aircraft, is slightly larger than Fokker’s original F.VII and has also undergone several technical improvements, including a heated cabin. The aircraft, which could carry eight passengers or 1,750 pounds of cargo, made its maiden flight on March 12, 1925. A total of 36 F.VIIa were made and were an integral part of several airlines that flew the route. Throughout Europe and many other parts of the world.
KLM Lever

The five new handicraft aircraft in the Microsoft Flight Simulator include: • Boeing F / A-18 Super Hornet: Our first Military jets and a highly requested feature from the community. The Top Gun: Maverick will be released next spring with the expansion movie, but we wanted the Seamers to have a chance to test their speed requirements this holiday season. VoloCity: We have partnered with the well-known German company Volocopter, which operates an eVTOL called “VoloCity”, a dream for an urban air taxi. We have worked closely with the Volokopter engineering team to create an authentic version of the prototype aircraft for the simulator. This is our first aircraft that can make a pinpoint landing and a teaser of what you can expect when we launch a helicopter in Sim in 2022. • Pilatus PC-6 Porter: This legendary short takeoff and landing (STOL) utility aircraft is a highly versatile aircraft in Switzerland and comes with a variety of cockpit, cabin and landing gear variations.
