Microsoft is celebrating OneDrive’s 15th birthday A new landing page called OneDrive Home aims to make it easier to keep track of your work. Instead of accessing the My Files tab when you first open OneDrive, you’ll find yourself on the new home page, which looks like this dashboard in the online version of Office.
Like the Office web app, OneDrive Home keeps a list of your files based on how long ago you last accessed them. Above the list are filters that allow you to sort your documents by Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF file types.
To the right of the File Owner field is a new Activity column that lets you know when someone leaves a comment, @ another user, or gives you a task within a shared document. On the left side of the Start view, Microsoft is adding a new Quick Access section where you can find and pin frequently accessed areas (like Windows).
Unfortunately, these changes aren’t going live yet — Microsoft says OneDrive Home will be available “in the coming months.” From the looks of it, the new homepage can serve as a central hub to help you stay organized while collaborating remotely.
Alongside its OneDrive web app, Microsoft is also introducing Files Picture story features OneDrive mobile app for users in Australia (basically the OneDrive equivalent for Instagram Stories). The feature won’t reach users in the US or other regions until later this year.
