You can no longer claim a £1/$1 Xbox Game Pass trial just days before the release of Starfield, Microsoft’s biggest release of the year.
The option to register for Microsoft Xbox Game Pass has been removed website (thanks, XGP) Now all you have to do is pay the full amount for the first month.
Microsoft recently reduced the offer from the full £1/$1 monthly price to just 14 days in early August. Eurogamer contacted Microsoft for comment on the change at the time, but received no further information.
The offer is now completely gone – Microsoft only relaunched it in July.
The £1/$1 Xbox Game Pass deal has been around for years and is a popular reason for users to sign up for Microsoft’s monthly subscription. But it was temporarily removed at the end of March – just before Redfall launched on PC and Xbox in May.
Of course, with Xbox Game Pass, customers can play brand new Microsoft titles when they’re released without paying full price.
But since Starfield is nearing release and the game is coming without a public distribution option, the offer has now been removed.
Are you interested in Starfield? To try it out you’ll need to pay for a full month of Game Pass on console (£9 per month), PC (£8 per month) or Ultimate (£13 per month). Or of course the console £70.
