con The Boy and the Heron Now available in many parts of the world, many are wondering what the next step will be for Hayao Miyazaki, who, to the surprise of many, has chosen to continue in the animation industry instead of taking an extended sabbatical, or as he puts it. I like to call them “retreats”. A rumor started spreading saying that The next film of this legendary director will be its sequel Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind.
The documentary was released recently 2399 Days with Hayao Miyazaki, which focuses on the production of El Niño e La Garza. At the end of this tape, We see Miyazaki portraying Nausicaa and her pets. However, and to the surprise of many, the director commented that “returning to this world is painful.”

For now though What he meant by this is unknown.Since he could speak well of the illustration he was working on at the time, many even suggested that Miyazaki’s next project would be a sequel. Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. For his part, Studio Ghibli vice president Junichi Nishioka revealed during this year’s Toronto International Film Festival that the director is already thinking about his next film.
Thus, it’s very likely that we’ll get more information about Miyazaki and his next project sooner than we thought, whether it’s a sequel or not. Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, or something entirely new. If we see a continuation of his 1984 work, This is the first time Studio Ghibli has done something like thisSince none of his films had a second part. On the related matter, you can find our opinion The Boy and the Heron Here. Likewise, Studio Ghibli’s The Legend of Zelda movie is what it would look like.
Editor’s note:
The Boy and the Heron was a great movie. Probably one of the studio’s best, but it doesn’t feel as original as Miyazaki’s other work. It’s still very good, but it was always on my mind Spirited awayI haven’t had that happen to me with other studio tapes.
