Although Netflix Considered the king of streaming services focused on movies and series, we must not forget that the company also has a foot in the video game industry. Users of this platform have access to multiple original games and mobile ports that have been loved by many. Thus, It has been revealed that Netflix is currently working on 80 different games.
During a shareholders meeting, Netflix revealed that they are currently working on 80 different games that will be available to their users at no additional cost. While there aren’t many details at the moment, some of it is inspired by the company’s biggest properties, such as Emilie in Paris. It is also known that Dr The company plans to release one every month. Netflix co-CEO Theodore A. Sarandos commented:
“I think our opportunity to serve superfans with games is really fun and significant. I think the idea of taking a series and being able to give superfans a place between seasons and beyond, being able to introduce new characters and new stories or new plot twists using the platform of the game, you can do those kinds of things now and then they’re in the next season. Or could be implemented in a movie sequel.”
It’s important to note that these titles are not AAA productions, but smaller experiences. Also, some of these games come from other studios, Netflix takes care of publishing these projects. Thus, it seems there are many possibilities on the horizon.
