New image sensor and more: All the important key data about the Pixel 8 (Pro) camera

Just a few days before the release of the new Pixel 8 smartphone, huge leaks have happened and more details are coming out.

Not only has a promotional video surfaced about the Pixel 8 (Pro)’s camera, But also A table with all key technical information. There are some innovations to be found, especially the Pixel 8 Pro improvements that raise expectations for the new top model from Google.

The new base for both devices is a new generation 50 MP image sensor (currently still with inaccurate data). The biggest change, however, is the Pixel 8 Pro’s 48MP ultra-wide-angle image sensor with f/1.95 aperture, while the Pixel 8 inherits the Pixel 7 Pro’s 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera (for macro) with autofocus. Pixel 8 Pro also has autofocus for the front camera for the first time.

Pixel 8 Pro camera details have been improved and renewed

Another new feature of the Pixel 8 Pro is laser multi-zone autofocus. This will significantly help the smartphone with autofocus. There’s no improvement here over the regular Pixel 8. And it’s also nice that at least the Pixel 8 Pro can optionally shoot at a full 50 MP.

I noticed general support for 24 FPS video in all modes compared to the Pixel 7 series. This is also new, but will only be of interest to a few users
