Twitter one MSI internal presentation slides The split appears to show the launch schedule for the upcoming QD-OLED monitor. The MSI MEG 342C (test) was released just a few months ago and the MSI Project 491C was showcased at Computex. Both use Samsung’s first generation QD-OLED panels with 34 and 49 inches respectively. As part of Gamescom, Asus unveiled new QD-OLED monitors that incorporate second-generation panels and are slated to launch in the first quarter of 2024 – including a 32-inch model.
MPG and MAG models differ in PD performance
MSI’s leaked roadmap complements Dough and TFT Central’s OLED roadmap. Apparently the new Samsung panels are available a little earlier than expected. In January, MSI not only wants to present the final version of the Project 491C as the MPG 491CQP, Two 32-inch and two 27-inch models. As pictured, the 27-inch models are flat, offer 360 Hz, have a WQHD resolution, and the main difference is the charging power of the USB-C port. The MPG 271QPX also offers power delivery 90 wattsCalled MAG 271QPX 15 watts.
The same difference applies to MSI MPG 321UPX and MAG 321UPX. These 32-inch flat monitors should have a UHD resolution and a refresh rate of 240 Hertz. As is well known, the resolution of the 49-inch model is 5,120 × 1,440 pixels and the curved display (1800R) offers 144 Hz. The timeline for the mentioned models extends from January to the end of the second quarter, so MSI can only present the gaming monitors at CES 2024.
Cheaper 34-inch model in 2023?
This year especially in November… MSI MAG 341CQP It has the same basic data as the available MEG 342C (UWQHD, 175 Hertz, 1800R), but the power delivery performance at the USB-C port is only 15 instead of 65 watts. The manufacturer is probably reserving some special equipment for a lower selling price. The MEG 342C is currently the most expensive model among 34-inch QD-OLED monitors (from 1,299 euros) – competing models with an identical panel are available from around 955 euros.
