Apart from some visual changes, an upgrade can also be expected under the hood of the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
We’re still six months away from Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphones, but a few plans are slowly being leaked. As is well-known, the new Galaxy S25 Ultra is supposed to get an upgrade to the exterior (round instead of square), but something beyond the logical development is happening.
Samsung has been disappointing in recent years when it comes to RAM and battery – no progress for years. However, with the increasing focus on AI, something has to happen. Even Google will upgrade the Pixel 9 series and increase the phone’s RAM. Samsung probably has this planned for its upcoming flagships.
Perhaps the best known and most reliable of Samsung internals announcementThat Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra has 16 GB of RAM. An upgrade from the previous 12 GB RAM. Google does the same with the Pixel 9 Pro. Of course, questions immediately arise. Are there any upgrades for the Galaxy S25 and S25+ like the Pixel 9?
Given similar timing, I can imagine that Google will have corresponding requirements for the Gemini Nano if the AI is fully usable on Android smartphones with the best performance. Samsung is known to be the only manufacturer that currently relies entirely on Google’s language model.
