At the Disney & Marvel Games Showcase, Disney’s D23 Expo 2022, Marvel and Niantic announced a partnership. Both companies are working on new games Marvel World of Heroes.
Marvel World of Heroes An AR mobile game that integrates the legendary Marvel Universe with the real world. It is slated for a global release in 2023.
Marvel World of Heroes It’s a real milestone as it’s the first Marvel game where players can become Marvel superheroes themselves – thanks to a real-world gameplay that only Niantic can realize. The game is designed for social interaction. Players must team up with friends and iconic Marvel characters to take on cunning Marvel super-villains and other-dimensional threats.
inside Marvel World of Heroes Players create their own unique identity as superheroes with their own backstories. They must patrol their neighborhood to foil crimes, complete important superhero missions, and protect against other dimensional threats. Leveling up unlocks new equipment and skills. Players can team up with well-known Marvel Super Heroes to fight infamous Marvel Super Villains and protect the Multiverse from both terrestrial and extraterrestrial threats.
Marvel World of Heroes Niantic is based on the Lightship platform, the same technology that powers Niantic games like Pokemon GO, Ingress and Pikmin Bloom.
