Campfire helps trainers connect, discover local communities, and find active adventures near them Campfires can be easily accessed via the green map icon in the corner of the game map. Here the players are shown all the raids and signals of other people in the area.

The new Campfire Team Up feature makes it easier than ever to join raid battles with other trainers. After opening the Team Up menu, players can choose to host or join an expedition through the menu or map view. After selecting an option, they will see which neighborhoods are available to start or join raids.
Social gameplay is a major reason for the popularity of Niantic games within the community. The launch of Campfire is another step in making teamwork as easy as possible for trainers around the world.
Commenting on Campfire’s development, Campfire Product Director Evan Zhu said:
“When developing the Raid feature in Pokémon GO, we focused on creating a new gameplay feature that encourages people to meet in the real world at the same time and place. To make it even easier to find and join Raids, we’re introducing Team Up, which connects nearby Trainers to form a team and engage in Raid Battles together. We know that many of our players use different community tools to organize their playthroughs, and it can be quite cumbersome, so we’re excited to now better connect those experiences. We can’t wait to see our trainers connect with this new feature!”
In the future, Niantic will continue to develop Campfire with new features and tools to bring the community together in the real world in innovative, meaningful ways.
