Nikon has made its new announcement NIKKOR Z 400mm f / 4.5 VR S lens. This telephoto prime offers a decent F4.5 aperture, which Nikon not only makes the lens smaller and lighter but also helps keep the price down.
The size of the lens is about 70-200mm f / 2.8. NIKKOR Z 400mm f / 4.5 VR S lens 9.2 ″ / 23.36 cm long and weighs 2.7 lbs / 1.22 kg. Compared to the Z 400mm f / 2.8 lens, this f / 4.5 version weighs 3.8 pounds less and is 6 ″ shorter in length.

According to Nikon, it uses a sophisticated optical design that includes multiple special elements that help create a lighter, more compact design.
The lens consists of an ED (extra-low scattering) glass component and two Super ED components, along with an SR (short-wavelength refractive) component that is claimed to virtually eliminate chromatic aberrations, color fringes and comic aberrations.
The SR component has a special high-scattering design that reflects shorter wavelengths than blue; This helps in achieving truly accurate color rendering and makes the lens design more compact.
The nano crystal coat has been applied to all corners for well-rounded anti-glare protection, helping to suppress ghosts, reflections and flares for higher contrast and more accurate color reactions when working in strong light and backlit conditions.
An advanced autofocus system uses stepping motors that are claimed to provide fast and accurate focusing performance with smooth and quiet AF, making it suitable for both still and video applications.
Full-time manual focus overrides are also possible and an internal focusing design is used, where only the internal lens groups are moved while focusing. This helps maintain the overall length of the lens and increase the speed of focusing.
Vibration reduction Image stability reduces the presence of camera shaking by about 5.5 stops to better enable handheld shooting in low light conditions.
Paired with sensor-shift VR integrated compatible cameras, Synchro VR is supported, which combines in-body VR with optical VR for improved results up to 6 stops of compensation.
An included tripod foot can be easily removed if you use a lens handheld. When used on top of a tripod, the tripod mount has a rotating design to easily switch between horizontal and vertical orientations.
There are separate manual focus and programmable control rings.
The lens is compatible with optional Z-Teleconverter TC-1.4x and TC-2x,
The 40mm f4.5 has a weather-sealed design that includes rubber gaskets to prevent dust and moisture from entering, and the exposed components have a fluorine coating that removes dirt and oil and is easy to clean.
Two customizable L-Fn buttons can be set to configure subject tracking, AF lock, image playback, or other modes. The L-Fn2 button is also accessible from four different positions on the barrel.
The focus limiter switch can limit the focus range from 19.7 অন to infinity or from the full focusing range of 8.2 to infinity.
A programmable control ring can also be used to control aperture, ISO or exposure compensation. There is also a Kensington lock support to protect the lens during remote shooting sessions.
The lens uses a front screw-in 95mm filter.
