iOS 17: AirDrop feature with NameDrop
With iOS 17, AirDrop photos on your iPhone are now easier.

Apple released its annual operating system update, streamlining old features and introducing new ones. But with iOS 17including many law enforcement agencies Oakland County Sheriff’s OfficeWarn residents not to turn off a new feature
Apple is rolling out an update this year Login function Shareable and customizable calling cards that notify someone when you arrive at your destination, and a standby mode that turns your phone into a clock.
Of course, the software update is packed with updates to existing functions such as: Time to face offVoicemail, autocorrect and airdrop.
Apple has also made it so that you can share your contact details with anyone in the same way. They call it Namedrop.
Just place the phones close to each other and wait for the connection to be established. You will see the screens interact and then the other person’s data will appear. You can choose whether you only want to receive their information or share your information
The update will automatically be set to “On” after the update is complete. If the feature isn’t working or you don’t have Bring devices together in your settings, make sure both devices are running iOS 17 or later.
But also law enforcement agencies Oakland County Sheriff’s OfficeCaution you against using this function.
For NameDrop to work, the phones have to be very close to each other, so you don’t have to worry about accidentally giving your data to a stranger.
But to turn off this setting,
- Go to settings
- Click General
- Tap AirDrop
- Switch the grouping of devices to the “off” position.
“Be sure to change these settings on your kids’ phones after updating,” the company said in a press release.
iOS 17 is compatible with iPhone XS and later.
