- OnePlus says the OnePlus 8T will ship with a new 65W adapter.
- The adapter includes support for 45W PD fast charging.
- The phone will also feature a new dual-battery layout.
OnePlus has confirmed the OnePlus 8T will ship with a new 65W Warp Charge adapter.
The company says the charger can fill the 8T’s 4,500mAh battery to full in 39 minutes and 58% in about 15 minutes. The reason the Warp Charge 65 can charge the 8T so quickly is thanks to a new battery design. Taking a page from sister brand Oppo, OnePlus’ latest phone features a dual battery layout that allows 65 Warp Charge to recharge both cells at more than 30W simultaneously.

The adapter itself also features a new design, one that promises better compatibility with other devices. With a new USB-C port, it includes support for PD fast charging protocol at 45W, meaning you’ll be able to use it to charge your other devices, including tablets and computers. It’s also fully compatible with all past OnePlus devices.
Rounding out the refreshed design are two additional encryption chips, embedded in the charger and included cable, that will work in conjunction with 12 temperature sensors in the OnePlus 8T to ensure the phone is always charging in the most efficient way possible. OnePlus says it has also tweaked the 8T’s heat dissipation system so that the phone stays as cool as possible when you plug it in to charge.
OnePlus will officially unveil the 8T on October 14. Until then, expect the company to continue slowly sharing new information. Just the other day, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed the phone will feature a 120Hz display. So there’s a good chance we’ll learn more about the phone in the three weeks before October 14.
