Just looking at the new Oppo hardware is enough. The Chinese manufacturer clearly wants to target competition from South Korea. This should be possible, for example, with the Oppo N2 Flip, a direct competitor for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Flip 5, due out in summer 2023.
Samsung will respond to Oppo
Thanks to Oppo’s new flip phone, we now know why Samsung wants to increase the external display of its own flip phone in the 2023 generation. Oppo shows what it could look like. You’ve given your very own compact clamshell phone a very generous external display. A lot more is possible without opening the foldable smartphone.
In my opinion, one of the most important key specs is the 4,300 mAh battery. This puts the N2 Flip on roughly the same level as comparable normal phones, we’re thinking of the Google Pixel 7 for example. This will enable better battery life Inside there is a 6.8″ large and 120 Hz fast OLED display, outside there is a 3.26″ screen diagonal.
I love the design of the new Android smartphone with a folding display and I can’t wait to see if Oppo brings it to Europe. Here in Germany we still have restrictions on sales through our own channels.
