Pixel 2 prototype with iris recognition revealed

Google has had some exciting ideas over the past few years, but has remained mostly conservative when it comes to Pixel phones. Now a prototype of the Pixel 2 has emerged that can perform a comprehensive iris scan.

There was an idea to unlock smartphones with eyes. We feel that Samsung offered comparable features to the Galaxy S9 smartphone. Ultimately, Google abandoned the idea.

The Pixel 2 should not only be able to scan fingerprints

As photos published by “Inside Archive” show, the Pixel 2 (2017) comes with a special sensor on the front for reliable recognition of the user’s iris.

Pretty exciting stuff. Of course there will be a lot of experimentation that won’t make it into the final device.
