Google has made major improvements to the top of the housing frame in its Pro model, with the antenna now more discreetly integrated for new mobile phone technology. But this seems to confuse some buyers.
With the Pixel 6 Pro, Google has still used a large area made of plastic on top, which matches the color of the back. Although it did not look good. A visual faux pas that still bothers me months later. Because you see this strip from the front, not just from above.
Pixel 6 Pro to Pixel 7 Pro: Google has eliminated some optical weaknesses
With the Pixel 7 Pro, things are very different. Now this area is visually much smaller on the one hand and almost seamlessly integrated into the housing frame on the other. However, one realizes that for many users this area now looks like a button or a slot for the SIM card. But no, you can ignore it.
I think that this area still has something to do with 5G or mmWave. But as “normal” smartphone consumers, we’ll be able to ignore mmWave for a while.
