Pixel 7 (Pro): Update confirmed

Since the launch of the Pixel series, Google has guaranteed new updates for a certain period of time. Of course, this is also the case with the new Pixel 7 series, as Google is now posting about Google Tensor’s security aware of.

Up to five years of updates, but not for new features

Unfortunately, what Google hasn’t done is implement the requested extension of the previously implemented update guarantee. Pixel feature drops and new Android versions are again guaranteed for a maximum of three years.

Android 14, 15 and 16 are available via update for the Pixel 7 series. Also three pixel feature drops per year (December, March, June). This update guarantee ends in October 2025.

Security updates are guaranteed for another year, in which case Google is committed to a total of five years (until 2027).
