Pixel 8: Are you OK with the higher price?

In the Pixel world, the prices of recent years are no longer sustainable

With the Pixel 8, Google may raise the price of the top model again for the first time, the third generation with a Tensor chipset may no longer be available from 649 euros. The price should be increased. These are rumors that at least support our expectations, as everything and everywhere, including the smartphone industry, is currently becoming more expensive.

The Pixel 7a already comes with a price hike

Looking at the whole market, a price of 699 euros to 749 euros can be quite realistic and will probably still be fine. Especially since the Pixel 7a started at 509 euros and the Pixel 8a will likely be even more expensive. Google needs to make a clear distinction between devices again.

A very interesting survey Android Authority Shows that a large portion of Pixel customers can certainly live with the higher price. 50 percent can live with a 50 dollar/euro price increase. About 24 percent would accept even a 100 dollar/euro price increase. 26 percent are not in the mood for a price hike.

Of course, the Pixel 8 Pro will be more expensive, so an RRP of at least €899 is likely. But as a reminder: Xiaomi and Samsung are already more expensive with their regular top models, including Google’s Pro.
