was a video game genre defining company Quantic Dream, who decided to take a more cinematic approach to presenting a long story that didn’t fit into just two hours. Also, they were known for launching exclusive titles play stationSome that are lost after departure Detroit: Become Human And now we know the reason behind ending the collaboration.
This is what the founder of the company commented, David CageAbout its partners:
The collaboration with PlayStation was great, we were a very small studio when we started working with them. We spoke when we started working on Heavy Rain in 2007. And they’ve been incredibly good to us, giving us all the creative freedom we’ve wanted, supporting projects for twelve years, and it’s been an incredible journey together. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved together… Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls and Detroit: Become Human, none of these games would have been possible without your support.
At the same time after twelve years of collaboration there is a point where we have the desire and concern to do different things. We initially thought of going into cross-platform territory with our games We thought it would be great to reach more people than users who have PS We wanted to explore different types of games and different things, as well as creating multiple games at once, a wish of the team, they could make their ideas come true.
There comes a time when you think, ‘We’ve been working with publishers for 20 years and they’re taking a financial risk when they support your project. They put money on the table and if they don’t win the game they lose. So it’s only fair that they get the lion’s share of the pie,’ and we got to a point where we thought we might as well invest that money and keep the whole pie for ourselves.
Given this, the team ensured that it was a risk that not only the manager took, but the entire team and its financial interests. So it can be summarized, that Quantic Dream Decided to become independent to have more creative freedom. Apart from this there is a possibility of making more video games simultaneously.
