Some personal words
This game has always been my dream game that I wanted to develop as a kid in the 80’s. I started playing with the Atari 2600 in the 70’s, then in the 80’s I moved to Commodore and Sega Genesis which impressed me a lot. And now almost 50 years later I have fulfilled my dream – I will say, I am living my dream. I get a lot of fan mails from gamers who love Distant life. This is a great achievement indeed.
During the three years of development I have worked really hard to achieve the best game I can create to give you an amazing experience. Of course the knowledge of retro gaming, as I personally have been through the game for many decades, is a big help in creating the concept of gameplay and mechanics. But a big reason was the sci-fi movies of the 70’s and 80’s. I wanted to create a fast-paced action game with insanely scary graphics and a believable alien world where you feel completely stunned. There are about 100 different enemies and traps that can kill you. This is a crazy big number.
Each level has its own style and enemies. Bone and scary level designs, or very organic designs, where even the walls are swaying if you shoot at them. Or foggy desaturated levels. Layers that look mysterious and scary or fill in the blanks. I just love each of them. Almost all levels have middle boss and last boss. Each of these looks crazy and outstanding. There are so many bosses that I can’t decide which one is my favorite.
The game did very well on Steam, and I’m sure it will be a success on Xbox as well. I am very proud of it, and I want to encourage everyone to create a game, if it is your dream. I’ve done it around 50, so if an older person can do it, a younger person can achieve anything. Be brave friends, and live your dream. I can proudly say that my game and I are part of gaming history, and I will not stop making games.
