If you happen to be an owner Rotolite NEO 3 Or AEOS 2, Rotolite has released a new one Firmware update For those fixtures.
This firmware upgrade adds several enhancements to Lite’s functionality and implements some user-requested features. Rotolite has also made some general performance improvements.
The latest firmware update includes selectable fan control mode with Silent Fan mode and is fully user-controlled.
A new ‘Lux mode‘The setting allows users to extract maximum performance from light or to achieve a constant exposure across color temperatures depending on the user’s preference.
A new touchscreen lock mode has been added so that lights can be placed anywhere by accidentally adjusting to the selected settings. To activate, you simply press and hold both knobs at the same time to lock / unlock the screen.
This update also includes improvements to CineSFX mode, including improved navigation of SFX controls, as well as enhanced color realism, and refinements to trigger SFX via a wireless Elinchrom Skyport transmitter.
Rotolight NEO 3 / AEOS 2 also has dynamic multi-language support that offers real-time adjustments across all menus and displays in Native Italian, French, German, Spanish and Dutch.
These new firmware additions are designed to improve general performance and suite minor bug fixes, including improved battery performance at maximum flash power and improved third-party battery support in the ‘Max’ flash mode.
Firmware roadmap
A major update (firmware 2.0) is expected in late July that will provide support for Rotolite’s new native iOS and Android apps which are in beta testing and will launch simultaneously. The Rotolight app will provide wireless real-time control for AEOS 2 / NEO 3 for brightness, color temperature, HSI, gel, SFX, flash settings and more.
Additionally, this update includes a new green / magenta correction control, with many additional enhancements.
I’m not sure why iOS and Android apps took so long. Most lighting companies have had apps for years, and Rotolite originally announced the app in October last year. Rotolite Native iOS and Android app version 1.0 was supposed to be available to all Rotolite users on June 1st.
