The first benchmark comparison should actually cast a positive light.
There are a lot of tests that Samsung doesn’t want to see before the launch of the Galaxy S24 smartphone and that’s why you won’t find any real test reports for the new devices online. Still, there are a few interesting reports here and there. This also includes the first stress tests, which should, however, be viewed with caution.
One of the biggest criticisms ahead of the new devices is the return to the Exynos platform on the Galaxy S24 and S24+, while the S24 Ultra still has a Snadpragon chipset. Exynos has stood out for low performance and poor efficiency in recent years. This seems to have been confirmed in the first benchmark attempt. Maybe or not?
The S24+ performs better than the S24
While the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s performance drops off much more slowly and eventually maintains levels above 60 to 70 percent, things are completely different with the S24. There the performance curve not only falls much faster, it drops to 60 percent and often even lower. The S24+ performs better alongside the S24 Ultra despite the Exynos.
Seriously hope this isn’t the reality of 2024!

The S24+ is promising in this comparison because it doesn’t fall as high as the regular S24. Another reason for doubt is that all three devices have a little more than 60 percent battery and are currently connected to power, so they generate extra heat. This may have a greater impact on the compact S24 as it has the least space and the steam chamber is also the smallest.
What I think: The Galaxy S24 has the biggest impact on heat development. The smartphone has the same technology as the S24+, but with less space inside. Because of the smaller vapor chamber, the heat can dissipate less well and has a corresponding effect. In this instance, the S24+ seems to underline that the Exynos 2400 might not be too far off the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
Apart from that, these are a store demo unit and we expect updates during the market launch that will optimize the devices. I wouldn’t worry so much, the Exynos 2400 certainly won’t be as bad as its predecessors and Samsung has certainly managed to make good use of the year off.
