Samsung is following Google’s lead when it comes to e-SIM card functions.
If you’re looking to go completely plastic SIM-free in the future, you’ll soon be in good hands with Samsung, as the South Koreans are adopting a function from Pixel smartphones. At least on the new Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, Samsung will rely on a system that allows the use of two eSIM profiles at the same time.
This is probably the first smartphone other than the current Google Pixel generation to have this function. In the age of virtual SIM cards, it has to go. Speaking of Google: they also offer the option on their Pixel devices that the user can convert a plastic SIM to an e-SIM – without any means.
The @SamsungMobileUS #GalaxyS24 The series appears to be the first non-Pixel Android phone to support dual SIM! This means you can use two eSIM profiles at the same time instead of just 1 pSIM + 1 eSIM or 2 pSIM for dual SIM functionality.
I didn’t actually add two SIM profiles… pic.twitter.com/4S6MJnHn4o
