OpenAI (but not only) played a joke on Google, to the delight of Microsoft and the wrath of the Mountain View giant’s “allies”, first of all Samsung.
With ChatGPT (specifically with the GPT-4 update, but GPT-4 is already being worked on), OpenAi has given A major hurdle in the race to develop artificial intelligence. Microsoft immediately joined OpenAI, investing more than 10 billion without hesitation and bringing ChatGPT to Bing AI performing better than ever – among other things.
There is no doubt that at the moment Microsoft has overtaken Google and is clearly ahead in artificial intelligence. For Samsung, the first to believe in the mountain view giant, this is certainly not good news. And he’s been outspoken with Google, threatening to ditch Google’s default engine on his smartphones, to switch to the competition, Tae Bing, if Google continues its slow trend. Therefore, the important point, on which all the tech giants are focusing is artificial intelligence, and whatever the birth and explosion of the blessed ChatGPT, is always on the front page of late: Bing AI, to give just one example, has even come to SwiftKey.
Google in panic mode
For this reason Google is working on four new tools based on artificial intelligence, MAGI, GIFI, Tivoli Tutor and a Chrome extension called Searchalong, all projects related to image search, learning a new language, interacting with chatbots during any type of navigation. But, above all, it must be done quickly, and then be as efficient as possible, given the bar raised by Microsoft.
Currently the Mountain View colossus will be in “panic mode”, to use a term from the New York Times, which explains the situation at both Microsoft and Google, the latter being quite complicated, e.g. Will Samsung really switch to Bing? As your default search engine, that’s going to be the problem. Why?
First because it will lose a lot of money, but a lot, but if Samsung really has to move away from Google due to a lack of performing artificial intelligence, what’s to stop Apple from doing so? Both companies, in fact, have an agreement with Google and pay A large commission Near Mountain View Company.
In this context, Google I/O 2023 is going to be really interesting And Mountain View isn’t really about understanding where the giant is going. But it remains to be seen whether Samsung will follow through on its threats, or be content to side with the one-time rabbit Google, which is now chasing a lost lead in artificial intelligence.
