Like Google, Samsung is taking its time, with the June 2024 update still not coming.
Indeed, some owners of current Samsung top models are probably hoping for a new June update, but Samsung is currently distributing another May update to European customers. Just over a month ago, German customers received the first May 2024 update and now there are reports of a second May update.
The new firmware comes with a new version number, but at first glance it’s about the same size (about 450 MB). However, this is really a second update based on the May 1, 2024 security patch level. Samsung has remained generic in the changelog and so without going into details we expect some bug fixes with this update. Distributed in the Galaxy S23 and S24 series.
The new June 2024 update was already announced a few days ago, but the distribution in Europe will probably be postponed a bit. Samsung is not alone in this, as Google has not yet distributed the latest June 2024 update for its Pixel devices. So far there are only the latest security bulletins for the Android source code.
