Lens manufacturer Sirui has started the crowdfunding campaign for its next lens, a 24mm F2.8 1.33x anamorphic lens for Canon EF-M mount, Fujifilm X mount, Micro Four Thirds (MFT) mount Nikon Z mount and Sony E mount camera systems (full-frame cameras must be in APS-C capture mode).
The lens, announced back in December, rounds out a trio of 1.33x anamorphic lenses from Sirui, which also includes the company’s 35mm and 50mm anamorphic lenses.
The lens consists of 13 elements in 10 groups, features an aperture rang of F2.8 through F16, has an eight-blade aperture diaphragm and has a minimum focusing distance of 80cm (2ft). Both weight and size differ slightly based on what mount you go with, but weight ranges from 770–810g (1.7–1.8lbs) and the dimensions are approximately 125mm (4.92”) long by 65mm (2.5”) in diameter.
As with the other 1.33x anamorphic lenses from Sirui, the appeal of the 24mm F2.8 1.33x anamorphic lens is its compact size and affordability, relative to other anamorphic lenses on the market.
Below is a video overview of the 24mm F2.8 anamorphic lens from Tom Antos:
The Indiegogo campaign has already far surpassed its humble $500 goal, with $850,000 in funding as of publishing this article. A single, early-bird special pledge will secure you the 24mm F2.8 1.33x anamorphic lens, in the mount of your choosing, for just $749. You can also use the campaign to snag the whole anamorphic trifecta (24mm, 35mm, 50mm) for only $2,098.
