the dog.
I love it when Ohio State is like that the dog.
“The best of his generation.” Chaminade-Madonna Prep star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith #1 overall recruitment in the class of 2024 according to the 247Sports Composite. Ohio State is expected to sign its national letter of intent and become a member of the Buckeye team in nine days.
last week, Sportsman Manny Navarro To find a better account of Smith’s dominant high school career, he sought input from coaches and players who tried — and mostly failed — to slow him down, as well as some of Florida’s veteran recruiting analysts. I’ve listed some of these opinions below.
Larry Bluestein, a recruiting analyst in Florida for 50 years
“State high school level? They are the best three ever. Andre Johnson was very good. Wes Chandler was elite. Ron Sellers dominates. I never use the term best when comparing players from different eras. Another generation. another time Smith is the best of his generation. One hundred percent of people who cover football or watch football now haven’t seen the 60s, 70s or 80s, so it gets really personal. “But he is definitely the best of his generation.”
American Heritage-Trainer Mike Smith
“It’s a crazy show. His size and speed also show on the track in the 110 hurdles. He runs over them like they’re not there. … He’s one of the best guys to come out of South Florida. …it is a question of contract. Even if you think you are doing a good job, in reality you are not. Play one game and unlock the whole game. You can manage him the way you want, put him in his place and he’ll still play because he’s so talented. It means that he is a special player. “Everybody knows the ball is coming to him and he’s still playing.”
Cardinal Gibbons 2024 three-star DB Jay Edmond
“His body plays a big role. … Run each root in the root tree. You have to respect the ball, serve or fade when it is there, which makes it very difficult. They did a lot with him at Chaminade this year. They didn’t just throw it at him and say, “Go get it.”… For me, it’s not just the body that makes it special. Step it up. He ran track, he ran hurdles and you could see the difference. “Once he gets on his knees, it’s hard to keep going.”
Miami Central 2026 DB l J’Vari Flowers
“I discovered a few things in the film. He tends to apply pressure from outside. So I took it from him. It’s big and physical. You can’t be too aggressive towards him. … “He was always one of the best. …but when he hit his growth spurt, he reached a new level. What really helped him was his growth spurt in ninth grade. Jeremiah Smith Hand. He would never say much. He will just do his job.
Wait… and he… Courage?
(I know it’s good).
According to MaxPreps, Smith has amassed 88 receptions for 1,376 yards and 19 touchdowns in 14 games this season. From 2021 to 2023, Smith played in 35 games for the Lions and recorded 177 receptions for 3,030 yards and 45 (!) touchdowns.
In Smith High School’s final game Thursday, had 11 catches for 170 yards and a score. Chaminade-Madonna, the nation’s second-best team according to MaxPreps, defeated undefeated Clearwater Central Catholic 56-0 on the campus of Florida A&M to win its third state championship.
As Full says, Smith dog, As I said before, I… I love it when Ohio State is like that dog – Especially in Brian Hartline’s wide receiver room.
Get this guy on campus!
A Nobel ohio Ohio State professor emeritus Pier Agostini received the Nobel Prize in Physics on Sunday in Stockholm, Sweden, for his generation of attosecond pulses to study selectivity.
He was 4,200 miles away from his friends, researchers, and students in Columbus.
But distance made no difference.
Before the Nobel Prize ceremony began, Ohio State University Agostini trustees gathered in the auditorium of the Physics Research Building and tuned in to a live broadcast of the ceremony. When Agostini took the stage with the other laureates, Ferenc Krause (Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics in Germany) and Ann Lhuillier (Lund University in Sweden), the hall erupted in applause and cheers.
Below are some quotes from these friends, researchers and students about Agostini and his Nobel Prize: Courtesy of Ohio State News.
Ohio State Acting Chairman Peter Mohler
“Winning a Nobel Prize is the highlight of a researcher’s career. … Ohio State is very proud of Professor Agostini and his accomplishments, and we look forward to seeing his laboratory and the physics department continue to expand his pioneering work.”
Dan Tuthill, graduate of The Ohio State University
“Pierre is just a guy who deserves it. … It’s a great victory for a long career. … (He’s) a wonderful person to work with. Very knowledgeable presentation, and three hours later he’ll come up to you and say, “I Thought about it – let’s talk about it.”
Sherry Chan, member of the Ohio State Dean’s Advisory Committee
“It’s the culmination of a lot of work here. … Ohio State has always been knowledge and research, and now we’re known on the international stage.”
After accepting the award with Krause and Lhuillier, Agostini went backstage where he met Ohio State Physics Department Chair Michael Poirier (left), Physics Professor Lou DiMuro (center right) and Dean David Horn (right).
