Google has been working hard to improve Android’s security features in recent months. Recently, three new features were introduced that are intended to better protect your smartphone and your data against theft.
One of the most exciting innovations is automatic theft detection. Smartphone sensors use AI calculations to detect when the device is stolen and then automatically lock. This will make it more difficult for thieves to access your data.
The function must be enabled in the device unlocking settings. Using the search bar in Android system settings is especially quick and easy to find.
Locked remotely in seconds
Also, now there is an option to lock your smartphone very quickly through remote access. Over a website You can lock your device with your phone number without logging into “Find Device”. Practical if you have lost your cell phone and need a quick response. Of course, you still need another device to open the website, perhaps from a friend.
However, this feature must be enabled manually in the phone settings. All this is possible in the Find device settings directly on your Android phone.
The third innovation of the group is “Offline Device Lock”. This feature is used when a thief tries to keep your Android phone offline for a long time to reset or sell it. Machine learning is also used to detect suspicious behavior and block devices.
The new security features are currently being rolled out internationally. These are not limited to just one smartphone manufacturer, but are part of the new Find Device feature that has also been introduced in recent months.
