Sony wants to make its smartphone range more confusing next year

Measured by market share, Sony plays an insignificant role in the global smartphone market. This is really a pity, because the devices are quite interesting on a technical level. This is also reflected in the audience’s interest in a YouTuber who recently gave insider tips.

However, Sony is hardly deterred by the apparent disinterest. Next year, not less, more smartphones will hit the market. At least that’s what they say Current rumors match.

All three models with Qualcomm’s new top-of-the-line chip are rumored

It specifically mentions six smartphones that Sony is slated to launch in 2023. Three of them are said to be high-end models with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 – which is yet to be unveiled. The date for this is currently 17 November.

According to the leak, the two smartphones are more in the entry-level range, likely equipped with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1. These could be high end devices like Xperia 10V, Xperia 1V, 5V and Xperia PRO 2023 edition.

This is Sony’s current smartphone portfolio

Officially, Sony currently sells the following seven models in Germany between 429 and 2,499 euros:

  • Xperia 5 IV
  • Xperia Pro
  • Xperia 10 IV
  • Xperia 1 IV
  • Xperia 10 III
  • Xperia PRO-I
  • Xperia 5 III

Personally, I find the product name a complete mess with Arabic and Roman numerals which are very opaque and hardly understandable to customers not familiar with the subject. Nor can it be assumed that Sony will change anything about this fact. In principle, however, I wish that Sony would also offer cheaper smartphones. What do you all mean?
