This mobile game uses the Streetscape Geometry1 API, a new feature of Google’s ARCore Geospatial API and the latest Augmented Reality (AR) technology. Recognized by Guinness World Records as the longest-running video game series in 2020 and celebrating its 45th anniversary this year, SPACE INVADERS is now available as an all-new AR game.
Space Invaders: World Defense is set 45 years after its initial release and the Space Invaders are back! It’s time to join forces with the world’s players to save the world. This immersive AR shooter infuses the classic game with a new dimension as you drift into an augmented reality world and deal with attackers lurking around every corner. Score points by exploring the surroundings and defeating the invaders. Players can unlock special power-ups, climb area-specific leaderboards, and share gameplay photos and AR selfies on their social channels.
Space Invaders: World Defense supports Google’s ARCore Geospatial API, which combines AR and 3D elements from players’ surroundings, including buildings, bridges and other architectural elements, to create stunning on-screen scenes. The game also adapts to real-world locations, times, and local weather conditions for immersive gameplay.
