Today, Sony State of Play treated us to a brand new trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, giving us a look at the game’s open-world gameplay and the 65 different Spider-suits available.
The gameplay in today’s trailer showed off the larger map again – it’s more than twice the size of the map in the first Spider-Man game, and web wings can help you get across it faster. We also looked at the new activities and stories available in the open world, and the way the game identifies you with these characters through an in-game app, visual cues and special abilities. Insomniac also announced that in addition to Venom and Kraven, we will also see other Marvel villains who have never been in the Spider-Man universe.
What’s more interesting is that we’ve seen several new spider suits available. Insomniac promised “many, many suits” – 65 different suits, to be exact, drawn from the comics and films and including several original designs. Among other customization options, Spider-Man 2 includes over 200 different looks for the two Spider-Man characters.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales were announced as sequels in 2021 by Insomniac Games. It features Peter Parker and Miles Morales as dual heroes that can be switched between subtle nods during gameplay, villains like Venom, Kraven the Hunter, and even Jackson’s Ferris Wheel. We at the Daily Bugle J. Will also see the return of Jonah Jameson. At SDCC earlier this year, Sony unveiled a new Spider-Man-themed PS5 and a DualSense controller that pairs with the game.
