(Pocket-Lint) – Spotify is testing a community feature for mobile that eventually enables users to see what their friends are listening to using the phone / tablet app.
So far, the only way to see what your Spotify or Facebook friends are listening to is through the desktop app, thanks to the activity bar, but now it looks like you could soon get similar functionality on mobile as well.
The feature is still in the early stages of testing, but has been seen working by Twitter user Chris Messina.
Ready? Here’s my secret!
Spotify has a new community hub to see what your friends are listening to live and what they’ve recently updated.
Although I don’t know who Andrew Orona is.

Spotify has confirmed the tests to TechCrunch.
The feature doesn’t seem to be particularly stable or functional at the moment, which is why it’s not widely available to all Spotify users on iOS or Android.
However, TechCrunch also says that you can view the community hub for yourself by typing “spotify.community” into a Safari address bar on an iOS device.
We’ll let you know if Spotify plans to launch it more widely and when.
