Whether you’re viewing videos, gazing at images, or reading texts, the Samsung Galaxy S10 delivers a stunning experience, thanks to its edge-to-edge AMOLED display. Samsung’s AMOLED technology is lauded for its optimal color accuracy and high-quality visuals. The S10 is a lovely phone, but it’s slippery. With glass and metal as its main exterior components, the Galaxy S10 is ripe for damage. To keep your device pristine and prevent damage, cracks, and scratches, you should cover the edge-to-edge display with a screen protector as soon as you take it out of the box. Here are a few we’re happy to recommend.
Otterbox Alpha Flex Anti-Shatter Screen Protector
There’s nothing more annoying than a screen protector that doesn’t quite fit the curves of your phone — but that’s not an issue with the Alpha Flex screen protector from Otterbox. It’s precision-molded to fit curved screens, hugging your phone in all the right places for ultra-strong protection — and it has a crystal coating that’s shatter- and scratch-resistant too. It doesn’t interfere with the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and it’s well worth your $50 as it will stand the test of time.
Skinomi TechSkin Screen Protector — Twin Pack
This twin pack of self-healing film protectors from Skinomi offers excellent value for money. Providing military-grade drop protection for your S10 and a scratch- and puncture-resistant finish, this film is incredibly easy to install thanks to a wet installation process that makes it easy to adjust the film as you apply it, for a perfect, bubble-free fit. It even comes with a lifetime warranty — what more could you ask for?
Ringke Dual Easy Screen Protector — Twin Pack
Hate the process of applying a screen protector? You’re not alone, and that’s why Ringke developed the Dual Easy film protector. It’s been specially designed to be easy to apply, thanks to a separate layer that exists only to help you align it properly and remove any residual dust and motes during the installation process. The final layer is a flexible film protector, so it’ll adhere to your device’s curves easily and protect well against dirt, dust, and minor scratches. On the downside, it won’t be as protective as a glass protector, especially against heavy-duty damage from drops — but it doesn’t interfere with the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and comes in a twin pack for excellent value.
Olixar Case-Friendly Glass Screen Protector
For tough protection that’s as clear as a bell, your choice has to be tempered glass. Olixar’s screen protector is made from tough 9H-rated tempered glass that will resist damage from scratches, grit, and drops. While it’s likely to shatter due to the impact of a drop, it should take the blow for your screen, effectively saving you from costly repairs. It’s also completely compatible with the in-display ultrasonic screen protector, though it has achieved that by — er — cutting a hole in the protector itself. Still, this is effective protection against a variety of threats, and it’s not particularly expensive.
Spigen Neo Flex HD Screen Protector — Twin Pack
Spigen offers fantastic case options, but it also offers screen protectors to complete and complement your device protection. This twin pack is compatible with Spigen’s cases and designed to sit flush with the edges, offering total protection. It uses a wet installation method, which ensures a tight fit to your device and great clarity and touch-sensitivity. There may be some smudges immediately after application, but wait a day and those should dissipate. The film will protect against scratches and dirt, but you may want something more heavy-duty if damage from drops worries you.
BodyGuardz Contour Edge-to-Edge Screen Protector
Another name with a strong pedigree, BodyGuardz creates some great screen protectors, and that pedigree is well represented by this hardened PET protector. It’s flexible enough to conform to the curved edges of your device, but has been specially hardened to prevent damage from reaching your S10’s display. It’s resistant to greasy smears and fingerprints, and BodyGuardz offers free replacements to those on its Advantage Program. While glass would be more protective, this is a good choice for anyone who doesn’t like the comparative thickness of glass.
Armorsuit Matte Film Screen Protector
ArmorSuit’s screen protector is the perfect choice if you work under strong lights or find yourself in direct sunlight a lot. The film has been treated with a matte coating that reduces the glare from reflections, making it perfect for anyone who finds themselves squinting at their screen too often. The film’s not going to be as protective as glass, but ArmorSuit boasts it will still be resistant to damage, and claims it’s made from military-grade materials with self-healing properties. Best of all, it’s cheap. This could be a great way to cut out glare at an even better price.
Whitestone Dome Screen Protector
Combining tough, tempered glass with a liquid adhesive makes Whitestone’s Dome one of the best screen protection solutions around, but we’re not going to lie, the application process requires patience and care. Watch the video and use the application kit correctly, and you’ll end up with perfect coverage that’s virtually invisible. There is a cutout for the camera and the cured adhesive forms such a close bond that the fingerprint scanner should work, but it may be impaired and some people report problems after applying this screen protector. This is strong protection that will safeguard your screen from drops, bumps, and scratches. It will even fill in existing scuffs, should you have any, and it comes with a lifetime warranty.
Zagg InvisibleShield Ultra Clear
It’s not made from glass, but Zagg’s InvisibleShield Ultra Clear does a very good job of pretending to be. The proprietary material feels a lot like glass, and it should prove to be more protective than the material used in most film protectors. That means it should be better placed to handle a bump from a drop, but keep in mind it still won’t be as good as glass. As a film protector, it has some self-healing properties and should close up minor scratches. It also works with the in-display fingerprint scanner, and while there’s no cutout for the front-facing camera, the crystal-clear material shouldn’t be any impairment to your selfie game.
IQ Shield Screen Protector
This is another plastic film screen protector with a wet installation method that means it should work just fine with the in-display fingerprint scanner. It’s perfectly clear, won’t yellow, and should prevent scratches. It may even be able to heal small scuffs itself, but it won’t help much with impact damage. There’s a cutout for the camera, and the fit is such that you should be able to get a case on there, too. You get two in the pack and it could be handy if you want back up for the screen protector that shipped with your Galaxy S10.
amFilm Screen Protector
This tempered glass screen protector is tough and durable, boasting scratch-resistance and enough strength that it should take a blow or two before breaking. It also comes in a twin pack, giving you a replacement or a spare for a friend. It’s applied in a similar way to the Whitestone Dome screen protector, so it’s definitely more intensive to apply. However, it comes with an instructive video for installation, so watch the video and you should be fine. The cured adhesive means it has a tight fit and shouldn’t reduce touch sensitivity or screen clarity as a result. It’s slightly cheaper than the Whitestone Dome, which is also a bonus.
