The U.S. Department of Justice, along with European Union criminal justice agency Eurojust, recently brought together law enforcement and legal experts at the Hague Workshop to increase international cooperation to stop ransomware attacks.
The group represented 27 countries and included members of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Secret Service, the Homeland Security Investigations, the European Judicial Cyber Crime Network, Eurojust’s Cyber Crime Team, and Europol’s European Cyber Crime Center.
U.S. Assistant Attorney General Kenneth A. “By working closely with key law enforcement and prosecuting partners in the EU, we can effectively address the threats that ransomware poses to our society,” said Polit Jr. Statement about the incident. “I am confident that the US-EU Ransomware Workshop will encourage greater coordination and cooperation in tackling the ransomware threat.”
