He entered the cinema in 1996 Twister, a classic natural disaster film that is recognized as one of the best installments of this subgenre to date. Now, almost 30 years later, we get to see its premiere TwisterA film that is described as a new chapter in the Twister universe, will hit theaters this year.
Twister A sequel to Twister, But it focuses on a new story that has never been seen before. However, the concept is very similar. That is, we see a series of characters who face the dangers posed by tornadoes. This is the description of the tape:
Edgar-Jones stars as Kate Cooper, a former storm chaser who had a devastating encounter with a tornado during her college years, who is now safely in New York City studying storm patterns. His friend Javi (Golden Globe nominee Anthony Ramos, In The Heights) brings him back to the open plains to test an innovative new tracking system. There, he crosses paths with Tyler Owens (Glenn Powell), a charming and reckless social media superstar who enjoys posting his adventures, chasing storms with his team, the more dangerous the better.

Twister Hitting theaters on July 19, 2024, And considering we’re talking about a sequel, we’ll probably see a few references to the film starring Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton. What a strange decision to make a sequel Twister. Although it is an iconic film in the natural disaster genre, it was not my favorite. However, considering that the concept lends itself to more films, it’s something that makes a lot of sense.
