With the Pixel 7 Pro, Google has for the first time introduced a function for its own Android phone to allow the user to change the screen resolution. This is a good way to save battery by reducing the load on the hardware.
Lower Resolution: QHD+ to FHD+
Now, even before the extended rollout of the innovation, it is known that Google now wants to bring this function to the older Pixel 6 Pro. Google has probably managed to update the Pixel 6 Pro’s screen driver for this. But for this you still need some patience.
The new option has now appeared in the latest Android 13 beta. You can probably expect the final rollout to your device with the March 2023 update.
I switched from Pixel 6 Pro with QHD+ to Pixel 7 Pro and have been using the device with FHD+ ever since. Even in a direct comparison, the difference in image sharpness is barely noticeable.
