TL; DR
- The Pixel 7 series will probably have the same display as the 6 Series.
- The only significant change would be a 7-pixel 7 display slightly smaller than the 6’s.
Users expecting a new-fangled display for the Pixel 7 series may be disappointed, with new rumors suggesting that the display will remain largely unchanged. The Pixel 6 series features a significant upgrade to the display technology used by Google compared to previous versions of the Pixel line. While users shouldn’t expect a similar jump with 7, it’s not necessarily a bad thing.
First seen by 9to5 Google, Google has released some new specs that indicate that the Pixel 7 series will feature the same basic display technology as the Pixel 6 series. This means that the Baseline Pixel 7 will have a refresh rate of up to 90Hz, just like the 6, while the Pro model will push up to 120Hz just like the 6 Pro.

Similarly, it appears that both models are using the same Samsung display panel as their predecessor. Although the 7 Pro will be identical in size compared to its predecessor, the display of the Baseline 7 will be slightly smaller, the Baseline 6 to 1 mm narrower and 2 mm smaller.
Interestingly, the Pixel 7 Pro can acquire the ability to run natively in 1080p mode, probably as a way to save battery for users who need to squeeze out every last bit of juice.
Obviously, this is still a rumor stage but now that the Pixel 7 is out of the bag thanks to Google, it’s only a matter of time until we learn more about Google’s upcoming flagship.
