The Pixel 8 Pro’s thermometer is becoming more practical, but still not universal.
There is still no meaningful answer as to why the Pixel 8 Pro has a thermometer. Even so, the feature could come in handy in everyday life from time to time if it’s expanded the way Google is doing it now. Problem: The invention now announced applies only to the United States.
They are now approved to be able to use the Pixel 8 Pro’s thermometer for body temperature. It not only provides information about the mere temperature, but whether the measured temperature is normal or possibly alarming.
The function that could thus be conferred required official approval, which obviously came too late. Google will definitely offer this feature as soon as the Pixel 8 devices are launched. And the second problem is that this release is not yet available for us or EU customers, which Google is hopefully working on.
We have always tried thermometers as body temperature tests, but the results were usually not realistic.
