Google seems to have slightly larger screens planned for several future Pixel smartphones.
With the Pixel 8 series, Google has made the devices smaller and more compact; On the regular Pixel 8, the diagonal display is again narrowed down a bit. Supposedly this will change again with the next generation and I have a guess as to why.
Google has finally caught up noticeably when it comes to screens this year, and the Pixel 8 Pro in particular promises to have a very good display. Also mentioned are the Actua and Super Actua screens, which have additional optimizations. It is possible that we will buy better screens in the future.
Perhaps in the future the edges of the screen will shrink significantly, then larger displays can be easily assembled without making the devices larger. The ratio between screen and housing is good. At least that’s my guess after industry insiders announced what will be different with the Pixel 9.
According to the well-known “Ross Young”, Google is planning larger screens for several future Pixel devices. It starts with the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro, but the Pixel 9a (2025) is expected to step up in this regard as well. And the relatively small pixel fold is also expected to increase in the next generation.
