Xiaomi is probably preparing to launch a new flip smartphone for the MIX series.
So far, Xiaomi has only launched a foldable, but plans to foray into other categories in the future. Now it seems clear that the Xiaomi Mix Flip is indeed planned. It could be a smartphone with the usual form factor, which could be half the size due to the folding display. Like a classic clamshell phone.
So far, other manufacturers have already offered something similar, including Razr devices from Motorola (in test reports) or Flip models from Samsung. But that’s about it. We don’t have devices like Oppo’s Flip series. That could arguably be an issue when we think about the upcoming Xiaomi Mix Flip.
Xiaomi strategy may come our way again
So far, Xiaomi has not sold its foldable models in Europe. A strange strategy, because other expensive smartphones such as ultra models are sold by us. But we don’t have to criticize Xiaomi’s strategy again, we’ve done that before. Because the Xiaomi Mix Flip is priced higher between the Pro and Ultra, Europe may have a better chance here.
But we have to wait. There are first signs of a Xiaomi Mi Mix Flip, but nothing has been announced. This time the Mix Flip has reportedly appeared in an IMEI database. Insiders say it will not only have a triple camera, but also a real zoom camera. With foldables, the camera in particular has always been a drawback, but that’s changing.
Because I’m not on MIUI, my favorite would still be a Pixel Flip. But nothing is known about this till now and Google always takes a little longer for new devices.
