Google is integrating the second generation of its own Tensor chipset into the new Pixel 7 smartphone and expectations are high. One side is reeling again as the benchmark results are so poor, we actually expect another solid improvement initially.
In my eyes, it is not necessary to result in fat in the synthetic test. Which you can probably see on Google as well, which is why the Tensor G2 is slightly different in base. Almost everything should remain unchanged, including the processor core. Manufacturing at only 4 nm and a higher clock rate of cores bring a bit more punch.

Instead, Google has focused more on optimizing the chipset so that its own software features can run better. Marketing material from Google promises better speech processing. Also, the new chip can offer more in terms of photo/video and higher security.
Still, we can expect some improvement in temperature management, as the Pixel 6 smartphones with the first generation Tensor are still clearly weak here. This was especially noticeable in games. As a customer, however, you should not expect a gaming monster.
Choosing the right role model
Google learned from Apple and Samsung. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel every year, but existing devices should be developed in a more logical and meaningful way. It comes with less fanfare, but seems to work given the market power of the two brands mentioned. On the other hand, brands like Xiaomi, which have always been loud, quickly fall back.
