According to its press release, Dune: Awakening “combines the adventure, creativity of survival games and the social interaction of large-scale continuous multiplayer games to create a unique and ambitious open-world survival MMO.” The player gets the chance to, “go into uncharted sectors and be the first to discover secrets and treasures before the Coriolis storm shifts the sands again and alters the landscape, painstakingly fleeing the Great Barrier Reef, building a home from a shelter to a stronghold, and traversing the gave.” The iconic Chariot hills are cosmic”
When not exploring Arrakis on foot, players can engage in “quick kill battles that transition seamlessly from armored ground vehicles to airborne helicopters.” The press release also mentions some sort of in-game rating that players can achieve through careful planning and influence creation.
