At the end of May, Google announced the first multi-device features, including call forwarding and Instant Hotspot, which are now also available on Android devices.
Once it’s available on your device, go to: Settings > Google > Devices and sharing > Cross-device services. The setup process involves creating your own device group by enabling these settings on the devices you’re signed in to.
- send call: “Call forwarding between this device and other nearby devices signed in to your Google Account. Call forwarding is only available for certain apps. Some data from your devices may be shared with these apps when you switch devices.”
- “When this feature is enabled, other devices can send video calls to the device you are using.”
- For now, it’s just reusing Google Meet’s existing cast branding. There is a cast icon to cast a video call within your Android phone, tablet or desktop browser
- Exchange on the Internet > Immediate contact person: “Automatically share hotspot access with your own devices. Internet Sharing works with Chromebooks and Android devices registered to your Google Account Bluetooth must be enabled and the device must be located to share the Internet.”
- Google Sea“Internet sharing is not available on Samsung devices. If you have a Samsung device, you can use the automatic hotspot feature instead.”
The switch allows you to turn on/off any feature while Google displays your device settings on the main cross-device services page.
