Elon Musk thought about starting his own social media company before buying Twitter. According to a recent SEC filing.
At the end of March, Musk made initial contact with Twitter after acquiring a 9% stake in the company, which for some time made him the company’s largest shareholder. According to the proxy statement, he spoke to Twitter and Musk chairman Parag Agarwal on March 31. He was thinking about what to share and his interests on Twitter and social media.
That would lead him in the same direction as President Trump, who launched his Truth Social app in February with scant results. Musk proposes a different path, and then gets board approval, to buy $ 54.20-a Twitter share. Since then, Musk has said the deal could not go ahead due to fears of spamming and the number of fake accounts online.
