As we reported earlier today, Ubisoft held a conference call last night as part of its latest Q3 2024 earnings report, in which Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot asked what Xbox rumors are currently circulating.
Specifically, a reporter asked the Ubi boss what he thought about the possibility of “Xbox’s cross-platform conversion”, to which he replied that he couldn’t really comment on the situation – although he did share it. little bit Part of his opinion:
“We can’t say anything about Microsoft’s rumors. They’ll really decide what’s best for them. What’s important to remember is that Activision Blizzard was cross-platform, so it will have an impact, but it’s not just a big impact on the industry.”
It’s hard to say how much Guillemot knows about the situation, as he believes it’s limited to Activision titles or the broader Xbox group, and it’s understandable that he doesn’t want to go into details right now.
The comments about Activision Blizzard are interesting, especially considering that Ubisoft recently acquired the cloud streaming rights to Activision games, so what happens next could have an impact on Ubisoft’s future. Based on what we see here, Guillemot doesn’t seem to have a “significant effect” anyway.
