Nintendo launched the latest transformed Firmware update version 18.0.0 is rolling out globally.
Previous updates have generally been about stability. Although it’s still here, it’s at least a little more interesting this time. Sleep mode settings now include a 15-minute auto-sleep option when connected to a TV Additionally, added Korean support for parental control intro video switching.
Here’s the official summary of the update:
Update patch notes for version 18.0.0
- Added “15 minutes” as an option to “Auto sleep while watching TV” in sleep mode settings.
- Korean has been added as a supported language for the Nintendo Switch parental control introduction video.
- If the console language is set to Korean, the video can be accessed through Settings > Parental Controls.
- General system stability improvements to improve user experience.
Before today, the last Switch update was version 17.0.1 at the end of December. In addition to current stability, a local connection issue has been fixed for some programs. You can read about it here.
Even version 17.0.0 wasn’t worth mentioning because it was about stability. It can be said that version 14.0.0 in March 2022 was the last significant update as it introduced the collection feature. We have more information about this here.
