Venus Optics has announced Laowa 90mm F2.8 2x Ultra Macro APOIts latest macro lens designed for full-frame mirrorless camera systems.
The lens is made up of 13 components in 10 groups, including three Extreme-Low Dispersion (ED) components. It has a 13-blade aperture diaphragm, which uses an aperture range of F2.8, a 67mm front filter thread, and a 20.5cm focusing distance, where it offers 2x magnification.
Despite its long focal length, the lens is significantly shorter than its contemporaries, including Lauer’s own 100mm F2.8 2x macro lens, which was released three years ago. It is 74mm (2.9 ”) in diameter, 120mm (4.7”) long and weighs 619g (21.8oz). And it won’t be bigger than that, thanks to its internal focus process.
