Earlier this year, Viltrox introduced a 13mm F1.4 autofocus lens for the Fujifilm X-mount camera system. Now, back with Viltrox Launch a crowdfunding campaign To bring this lens into the Nikon Z and Sony E-mount APS-C camera systems (or their respective full-frame cameras used in crop mode).
The lens, which offers a full-frame equivalent 20mm focal length, is composed of 14 components in 11 groups, including two aspherical components, four extra-low scattering (ED) components and two high-refractive components. It has an internal focusing unit powered by a stepping motor, with a minimum focusing distance of 22 cm (8.7 ”), using a nine-blade aperture diaphragm and a 67 mm front filter thread.
The body of the lens is made entirely of metal and the lens provides a dust-proof seal throughout the construction (Viltrox shows six different gaskets). The lens is 74mm (2.9 ”) in diameter, 90mm (3.5”) long and weighs 420g (14.8oz) in the e-mount configuration and 455g (16oz) in the Z-mount configuration. For comparison, Sony’s new 15mm F1.4 G APS-C lens is 66.6mm (2.6 ”) in diameter, 7cm (2.73”) long and weighs 218g (7.7oz).
